I mean, to be fair it's a Uber extreme track car for hyper wealthy people. It's for people who have people to direct people to order a few sets of tires for their track day. The people who own this car spend more money shuffling their private jets around with nobody in them than a"rich" person makes in a year.

For the people who own these, it is no headache at all, because their vehicle management team ensures that they have plenty of everything needed to race it when they want and a couple of backup cars delivered to the track as well.

I think what struck me the most about this was that Bugatti would decide to build something as specialized as this car targeting a customer base totalling less than .0000005% who live on the planet.

It’s definitely quite the departure from their run-of-the-mill econoboxes and SUVs that have been their bread and butter till now.

Side note, nobody buying 4 million euro cars gives a flying F about any of the costs associated with owning it. In fact, many likely wouldn’t be interested if it was cheaper, a huge part of the appeal it’s its f-off expensive and unbelievably exclusive.

For racing slicks that's no uncommon. I use to have a tire business and we would do trackside tire service at Sebring and Homestead. There were plenty of people dropping at least $4k+ per event just on tires. Occasionally we would also do tire support for some "teams" who would rent the whole track to do testing. They would literally bring like an entire Homestead garage bay worth of tires just for the day.

Then you have the guys looking to take all the tires these other guys just took off to put on their cars.

You should look up some interviews that T-Pain gave talking about his Bugatti. Radiator replacement was $90k (in the 2000s). The spoiler was some astronomical amount of money too. None of it is like "just works" kinda stuff, they're not designed to be robust cars, they're designed to be serviced at great expense often to be perfect all the time.

It's beyond 1%er problems. They're like 0.01%er problems. Even a guy like T-Pain who made butt load of money is like "F this, that's too much money" lol

its the norm for vehicles like this.

super specific high performance race tires arent cheap and dont last very long.

It's a track tire, likely very soft for the best handling possible. F1 tires last 20-40 miles, so I'm guessing it's THAT soft. These are also likely specifically engineered and manufactured for this vehicle. BMW does this too with their MPS4S *BMW and CUP2 *BMW.

The car will come with a set of street tires that lasts 5 years, and you don't have to use the set of track tires they come with to track the vehicle. You can always get a set of slicks that will last 2-3 track days, which is about the norm for tracking on slicks. These cost between $1500-4000. F

or reference, a set of CUP2 *BMW on my M4 and M2 are $2400 a set and they last 4-5 track days.
