What floor jack & stands are you using for your SUV?

What floor jack & stands are folks using for their SUV?

I'm not sure if my Arcan jack will get the job done for my CX-5. Just talking about enough to comfortable get the wheels off for brake jobs, etc

Daytona low profile long reach lifts everything from race prepped Corvettes to the wife's Expedition.

Jack stands I have some old Craftsman 3 tons. I sometimes think about upgrading to Daytona 6 tons. There's two versions of those though, one is better than the other and they are stocked the same. There's a YouTube video about it out there.

I use the Daytona 3T for our X5. They are a bit taller than a lot of other ones. Good quality, haven't broken so far!

That's good to know. My Arcan is the low profile long reach version. MY stands are Esco with 2 of them being the larger higher lift version

Costco jack and esco stands. Use them for all my cars.

I alternate between:

Tire Rack-branded low profile, 3-ton floor jack + ESCO 10498 jack stands OR
Quick Jack (the 3.5-ton version)

Really depends on what I'm doing and if I'm feeling that setting up of the Quick Jack is worth the time/effort.

I use an AC Hydraulic DK20Q 2 Ton Low Profile Hydraulic Service Jack. More expensive than most but made in Denmark rather than China.

Hein-Werner makes some good jacks but are more expensive than the AC Hydraulic.

I still use my 1979 Sears 1.5 ton hydraulic floor jack and sears jack stands from the same year. I always do my own oil changes, tire rotations, brake work, etcetera over the years.

Yeah, I would buy something newer when the jack fails, but it keeps working flawlessly.

If you have a Quick Jack, you really need to do this hack. Costs under $10. It makes it so much easier to use. You can move them around and position them with one hand... I leave my QJ hooked up to the pump and positioned in the middle of my garage and park over them so usage is very quick and easy. I placed a 1x4 x 6' long board resting between/on top of them. This gives me a "guide" for my back up camera, so I am always centered over them. I also marked the garage floor with a sharpie so I always put them back in the same spot, keeping me centered in my parking space. Only takes me about 5 min to have my car in the air, including pulling out of the garage (also have floor markings to preposition the QJ when I want to lift with it).

+1 on AC Hydraulic DK20Q.
I've had it for 20+ years, and still going strong.

For stands - ESCO 3 Ton. Also have had them for decades, work perfectly with all my cars.

Torin (Costco jack) for my Model Y. Had to make sure the capacity was sufficient given the weight of the EV.

Quick jacks are a waste imo. Super heavy and don't go higher than a good set of Jack stands.

Had a set and got rid of them, my garage thanked me. I'll probably put a real lift in the new garage once it's built.

Can’t beat a real lift if you have the space and ceiling height. Got my first one 15 years ago.
