Yes, since the X3 grew it is likely that the G65 will be a bit bigger than the G05.

I think it may appear smaller under the camo because BMW finally (hopefully) fixed the window to door proportions. The windows on the X5 have always been too tall compared to the doors, making the SUV look boxy. The smaller windows give a more planted and sporty look but it can make the vehicle appear smaller.

That is a good shot as it shows there is no split tailgate and it was the overhang that was causing the illusion.

That’s not clear to me at all. It appears that there is a split tailgate.

Split tailgate? From the pics looks like it may or may not be there.

What are those awful bulges on the bottom of the doors? I sure hope that's part of the disguise.

BMW is definitely disguising something in the tailgate design. Hopefully we're not all disappointed.

I am very concerned that BMW will ruin the exterior and interior of the X5. The exterior will have the “panel” look that you find on cheaper SUVs like the Atlas. I am not a fan at all. I will also lament the loss of the split tailgate and the idrive controller. Following this closely.

Like I have been saying, hope I'm wrong and they are hiding the split under the camo but I don't see anything in that shot that looks like a split tailgate. Look at the spacing and proportion of the line that appears. That is under the lights which would be the overhang where the handle is. It would be too high for the tailgate split as it would be awkward to reach in with the bottom closed.

Comparing to the G05, you have the overhang (yellow) and then about 8" lower is the split (purple). The overhang is about 40" high on the G05 so given the G65 looks similar they wouldn't have the split that high.

To me it looks like the split and proportions are about the same as the GO5. I?m not seeing what you?re describing at all. The area where the handle would be doesn?t seem too high to me, but I?m not skilled in looking at these camo photos.

The God awful door handles from the Skytop are highly visible. BMW once again attempting to metaphorically reinvent the wheel. 🙄 Note that these door handles have no moving parts. Works via Haptic Touch.
