Questions about aftershave...
...what does it do exactly?
Is it the same function as lotion, but companies made it to get you to buy another product? I always wash my face with face wash before I shave. After I shave my skin will feel very dry so I'll put on lotion. I always wondered what aftershave does exactly. I would think it has almost the same function as lotion. For people who put on lotion after they shave like me, wouldn't it be weird to put on aftershave then lotion and have two products on your face? |

One small swig and it gives you a nice buzz after a hard shave (balls included)

I just use cologne. Aftershave is basically the same thing watered down.

i think it just tightens up your pours
I just splash collddd water on my face when I'm done. You should look into 'Wet Shaving'. I just started and have never gotten a closer shave (with no razor bumps or ingrown hair).

http://www.amazon.com/Proraso-Sapone.../dp/B000MDCWWO I own these two items. I don't use a traditional razor because I'm a pussy and don't want to risk slicing my whole face open: (http://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Handled...=pd_sim_hpc_93) Do a bit of research on Google.

Depends what you use. Aftershave is a general term. You should be going for a lotion b/c you have dry skin but no oiley lotions. You want something light and natural. You dont want to use ANYTHING with alcohol in it as it'll dry you out. Generally, alcohol is a main ingredient in classic aftershaves.

I have insanely rough facial hair. I tried everything before I gave in and got a straight edge. I would dull disposable razors halfway through shaving, the mach 3 would only last two shaves, and the replaceable razors were useless. The straight edge is perfect. It only takes a few shaves to get comfortable. Shaving around the chin is the trickiest part, but you learn.
