No, he didn't. The rb21 is the first red bull car without his input. The rb20 didn't benefit from his mid-season guidance either, which tracks with why other teams have closed the gap /are passing them now.

Adrian Newey left RBR officially on 1st March 2025 and on the same day joined AM as the Managing Technical Partner so apart from the RB17 hyper car project while being on full pay he must have been helping out with the race car whatever google says.

A. Newey said : I've seen "something" on the RB21 what I really (don't)! like... So , the Frenchman Pierre Waché knew about RB21's fundamental design flaw and to fix it completely, a complete new car was required .. And all the RB21 upgrades transformed in downgrades. It made the car undriveable (!) That's why I think Pierre Waché really s@cks , because one year later the RB21 still s@cks (!) The rest is old news : The announcement of Newey's departure and later as we know, he was gone and moved to Aston and got a great contract with Aston company shares .. #TheRedBullFrankensteinCar (!)

I am excited for the change at RB, but I hope this comes as a wake up call for RB that they need to change things up on how they do things. Obviously shit isn't working.
Hope Yuki is able to test out the RB21 this week / weekend and next week before fully taking the seat next weekend to get a great feel for the car.

"What we do know is that, unlike Lawson, Tsunoda will not have the benefit of acclimatising to his new car in pre-season testing, with the Japanese driver to be instead thrust straight into the RB21 spotlight in Practice One at his home Suzuka track. He should at least get simulator time to get used to its settings at the team's Milton Keynes base before flying to Japan." https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12...or-japanese-gp |

"Is Tsunoda doomed to fail at Red Bull too?"
https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/i...-red-bull-too/ Excerpt: "Tsunoda has sampled Red Bull’s RB20 in the post-season Abu Dhabi last year, and was very quick to say “I didn’t really struggle much to adapt”.

That’s what I saw. More Charlie’s fault but write it off as a first lap incident.

It's OFFICIAL. Tsunoda is now Max's partner. Lawson is Hadjar's partner.

The person to blame at RB is Horner. Not only has he lost Newey, but as everyone knows many other very important people have left.
Since Max and Daniel he is 0-4 on driver hires. He hung on to Checo way too long last year and should’ve put Yuki in that seat midway through to try and salvage the WCC. Or if they knew that early they were going with Lawson, why not make that switch last year so you could’ve avoided the chaos this year? A lot of people don’t like Zach (especially Horner of course), but at least he takes responsibility for what happens with his team, unlike Horner. |

Talent drain is real and I think Red Bull is entering that phase, like all winning teams, of where and how do we replace talent that we lost and keep the competitive consistency? A large chunk of the team which provided Red Bull a championship winning car is gone and now they don't have a car they think they can win in (or so they say) and don't have an answer for a number 2 driver. There is a lot that Red Bull needs to sort out. |

If they can’t hang on to Max at the end of this year, their downfall (led by Horner) will be complete. |
