Lewis Hamilton's contract demand : Mercedes agree to 'Max Verstappen clause' ?!?!

Mercedes chief Wolff said discussions will first be held with Hamilton and Bottas before thinking about recruiting a new driver for 2022, with Russell the most likely newcomer.

He said: "The symbiosis that we have in the relationship, it's always that we have a mutual understanding of what we want to do in the future.

"And that will be also the case in the discussions with Lewis going forward. Max is certainly an outstanding young driver that will be on everybody's radar in the future.

"But we are not flirting outside before we have a clear understanding with our two drivers."

What, you didn't read that as Max is clearly our number one driver we are looking at and nobody else?

^ Max was clearly number one there by a country mile with Hammy floundering in third and BOT allowed to finish second to protect his second in the championship going on an easy Sunday drive every time while Max going for wins without back up had to take more chances and deal with kamikaze drivers going into him.
A sheepish way for Merc to finish their season which they had in the bag anyway.

7 interesting facts regarding the race in Abu Dhabi :

• Abu Dhabi is a Merc power track
• The gap was 15 + sec.
• MAX lifted his right foot with 7 laps to go ,otherwise the gap was easily 20 + sec.
• During the whole '20 season , MAX was running behind in a gap of +/- 15 sec.
• So actually MAX pulled a gap there of +/- 15 + 15 = 30 sec . !
• In F1 terms are 30 sec. an ocean of time !
• LeCrash was lapped , and almost lapped twice

Who cares about a race that doesn’t count for anything? Post statistics from races where your golden boy had a chance to compete for the championship.

Oh wait, you can’t. Max was never in contention for a championship bid. Maybe he should try nascar where required skill is minimal and crashing is part of racing.

Indeed it was ONLY Max that was only ever putting up a challenge to the two Sunday drivers, apart from flashes of brilliance from Perez and Gasly the others like Ricciardo,Leclerc,Sainz were like a circus act just not really trying anything just preserving tyres and equipment.
