There is a disconnect in trying to get certain context, tone, modulation, etc. across via text. Emojis can help but aren't cool.

It's easy to read something someone writes and take it the wrong way, then reply in a similarly understood manner, amplifying the missed messages.

Most of us aren't English majors either... but that's another issue all together.

Yes, very true in misunderstanding a person’s tone. I try to stay mild mannered so I’m not misunderstood. All we have here are our words plus emojis (as mentioned). Always best to err on the side of caution imo. I’d rather make friends, not enemies especially if it’s because I’m being misunderstood.

Well, I, for one, am not afraid to use emojis, as I'm very secure in my manhood.

(Srsly, not sure why some men are so ______, whatever the term is....making up silly reasons to not do/use stuff, like avoiding being seen in certain convertibles/cars, wearing certain colors, etc.)

There is a guy on the new G87 forum, who just got his g87. What an insufferable person he is, he gets so salty when someone thinks the f87 looks better, very defensive if anyone makes a criticism of the new M2 and rude when people comment on his threads only by mistake (domain confusion). There was also someone who made a thread comparing the new Emira with the M2, at what his response is, "who would buy a Lotus' '... I mean, really? He seems like a kid honestly, I just can't believe that person is 30+ years old, very defensive in general with his arguments. Well anyway that's the only one so far haha

Haha, reminds me of that guy w the 3rd gen Z4, he subsequently got banned...maybe they're related.

It's fine to like one's own ride, but it's hilarious to think that anything's perfect and get all worked up about it.

Not not get along cuz I don't think I ever interacted w this poster but I started a thread about some fungus infecting a human for the first time just an as interesting OT topic and this guy just comes right in w an attitude basically saying why I'm concentrating on this topic instead of some positive ones...like wth? I just saw this blurb and wanted to casually share it since it's quite interesting, chill the hell out, freaking socially-awkward weirdo.

I'm not blocking anyone, but anyone who passes their opinion off as fact gets annoying quick. I respect they have an opinion, if they respect that I have one of my own that might be different than theirs, then we are all good for constructive debate.

I'm pretty sure I'm blocked by some people for not agreeing that their opinion is as infallible as they think it is.

A part of me smiles when someone especially aggressive gets banned.

hmm, I think RealDodger igged me about five years ago but it’s sort of hard to tell because he’s changed his username a half dozen times since then.

Only 2 names on my ignore list, which is interesting because I thought there were many more.

I don't ignore people when I disagree with them, as I consider that pretty natural. I ignore them when I find that pretty much everything they say is in sharp contrast to how I feel, so there is *probably* no need to read their future posts.

As I have gotten older I live by the line; I limit my time to those with which time passes well. Not sure the author.
