In a decider race you can win or lose your whole season and your Championship in that last race (even in the last lap)!
As we know , 2021 is the perfect example how LEW and Mercedes threw the Championship away .

So that's another win and another 7 valuable points he missed that you can't afford when you're in a tight battle for the championship.

HAM could've easily won '21 with a ~20 points lead and have Max win AD '21 if it wasn't for making stupid mistakes by himself and the team.
I think that's why he want's to win his 8th so bad. Because he knows he f#cked up.

On your point 2, there is no way RB would have called Max in for new tyres under the safety car at the end of the race if roles were reversed. It would have handed Lewis the race and championship under 'normal' circumstances

2021 was an odd year in certain ways. Max should have won Baku but got some freak tire blowout. MB also intentionally crashed into Max in Hungary, and Ham should not have scored any points in Bahrain given he should have received about 60 seconds of penalties due to off track limits 28 times. All in all, in a slower car, Max won more races and had more podiums, etc. He was better over the course of the season - there are no ifs, ands, or buts about that.

Yeah, I mean, my point is, 2021 Lewis and Merc had lots of other opportunities to score points throughout the year to make it so the last race of the year wasn't a deciding factor. (which it was and that's it's own can of worms that I'm not opining on at the moment).

In 2008, Massa had a lot of mistakes that cost him the championship - Australia, Malaysia, Monaco, Silverstone... To point back at one particular race, where his poor performance was actually because of his team's failures, oh and there was an unrelated cheating incident, it's just going to go nowhere. He's got his hopes up, but it's over.

I dont think that is true on the latter. In 2023 I believe it was at the Dutch GP, Max was in the lead, and under a SC they pitted Max for softs and gave Ham the lead. Max came out in P2 and then he made the single fastest SC restart pass ever seen in F1 history passing ham in something like .03 seconds. Absolutely obliterated him like he put the car in reverse. So yes, Max would have pitted in Abu Dhabi and still likely won either way because he's just a better guy under pressure and has gotten even better since then - just look at Zandvoort 2023 or his 10 and 9 wins in a row that contained some of the craziest races you'll see and he did everything under immense pressure. No one else would have done that.

I read the court case is not until October, if it will be decided that the 'cover up' of the Crashgate was unfair and against sporting ethics (that is what F1 is based on) then FM has every chance of getting the result overturned in his favour with the 'made in stone' ruling not being applicable in this particular case.

Yea agree, I think they could revamp the colour a little...

Speaking of colour what do you think of the BWT Alpine colour..At first I wasn't a fan but it does stand out if you will, on the track..
