My gripe isn't the price of eggs per se. It's the fact that people who normally wouldn't touch egg whites are now snapping them up because they're cheaper than eggs. I have egg whites for breakfast because I need to keep my cholesterol way low. I can't find my usual egg whites anywhere now. When the price of whole eggs comes back down, maybe I can go back to having my scrambled egg whites again.

Your egg whites are safe from me.

Egg Beaters aren't bad. Wifey has been eating them for years and was always trying to get me to try them. One day I made an omelet with them and added cheese, ham, and chives. They were actually pretty good that way. So I've been having them scrambled with those same ingredients. Quick to make and healthier than whole eggs. I still have whole eggs every now and then, though.

There's really no point having egg whites if you're gonna put cheese in them, you're replacing one cholesterol for another, may as well just eat the yolk.

Nah. The non-fat mozzarella I use has 5mg in 1/4 cup, and I don't use even that much. One large egg has 186mg, almost all in the yolk. Big difference.

OR, you could just separate the yolk from the white on a real egg <shrugs>

True, but then there's that dilemma about what to do with the yolk.

Prescription Drugs Canada's drug prices are generally lower due to government mechanisms to lower costs and why a lot of yanks come over for health tourism.

A lot of electronics and Accessories, GPS devices, memory cards, flash drives

and also cheese is often cheaper in Canada than in the US.

MAPLE SYRUP !!!!! the real stuff

After a long hiatus, I picked up a dozen eggs at Sprouts today for $3.99.

Finally found some Egg Beaters at Walmart today. Grabbed two cartons.

Had a real egg in a sammich this morning. That and a small Cobb salad at lunch put me over my cholesterol limit for the day. And that's before I added dinner. I think back to my 8 years of eating Army breakfasts which almost always consisted of 3 scramble eggs or a 3 egg omelet. No wonder my arteries are practically concrete.

That's a good price. Sprouts is a great store. We have one close by and we go there often.

Sorry to say I didn't buy my last eggs there.

I just paid $12 for my blue and brown fancy eggs because I didnt even think about it. That's double this time last year.

Shortage or not someone makin that money, or maybe just covering the cost of the chicken cull? I dont hate it if its that latter.

My money is on the later.

If any of you like board games, try The Farming Game. It's based on Monopoly, except you play against the game, not each other. The premise is you're a farmer where you buy crop acreage, livestock, etc, and harvest the same. In true farmer fashion, you start out with a certain amount of cash AND $5K in debt! It's quite a lot of fun, but does take some time to play.

The deal with Walmart was quashed by an upper manager. Bummer. But! They are coming down. Sysco at $83/case this week. Mrs H found them from another vendor for $66. Sweet relief! Now, if they would just drop another $30 or so…

Eggs haven't been more than $5 at Sprouts since this started.

The media ran with this for obvious reasons...shame some of you can't see what is going on.

There is definitely a bit of a shortage going on.

for weeks, it has been nearly impossible to find pasture raised eggs at costco.

There are two pallates of white eggs of whatever upbringing, but to quote a comedian from years ago, "I want to eat eggs from chickens who scratch for food and get sc****d by roosters."

Also, all the talking heads say it is better.

Tell that to Vons; our longtime primary grocery store. Eggs there have been
$7.99 a dozen and up for a long time now. I hadn’t visited Sprouts in a couple
of years, mainly because much of their other items are high priced: Good
food, but expensive.
