I believe there will be an option to do exactly this. Nothing too extensive, but you can alter the sound to your liking. I saw that in the iX3 Neue Klasse previews a few months ago.

If they are going to go to all this trouble to create pretend spaceship sounds, maybe add a button that makes various "pew-pew" type space weapon sounds we can use when another driver has earned our ire?

I'm not sure if this makes me part of the EV fanbois or the old farts club but I don't want my car making any kind of artificial sound at all unless it's something I've selected from Spotify.

I do appreciate the tune of a nice old V8 for nostalgia's sake but as soon as they try to fake it, all the emotion is lost.

Not sure why BMW is so enamoured with the idea of fake "engine sound" in EVs. As long as you can turn it off permanently, no harm done I suppose.
