the car's transponder is located at the nose, just before the connection to the wing. at the moment he pressed the button his nose was already at the pit lane end line, so as far as the FIA is concerned, he did not speed in the pit lane

so I'm told anyway

^ Even if he did press the limiter off before the line so long as he doesn't pass the pit speed limit he's fine.

In my opinion Lewis has that same ruthless and selfish attitude. Only Max isn't trying to hide it and can be blunt for everyone to see it. Lewis just does a better job disguising it. If you want to become a multipple world champion, you just have to be.

Yeah . But I didn't know that attempting to overtake on the grass at the pitlane exit was just a safe manoeuvre according to the FIA safety regulations ...

FIA : No further investigation (!)

Not sure I agree.

Some rich people take over countries and others are philanthropists.

We have champions who are selfish, and others who are not.

Being selfish and narcissistic may help get you in the spotlight, but true talent will shine regardless.

On this comment I'm in disagreement...not with your opinion of Lewis and Max, but there have been a good number of multiple past World Champions that were/are total gentlemen...showing fairness, sportsmanship and compassion on and off the track...and with not a hint of ruthlessness. Now, if we'd like to say in today's world that's the only way a premier driver can obtain success, I'd have to say we've got some current poster boys that are doing a good job exhibiting those seedy characteristics.

Should be a good track for RB.
The heat will be difficult for the Merc and the Ferrari doesn’t do so well with the high speed corners.

I’m expecting a good battle between Max, Oscar and Lando.

LEW's Benz exit was meant to be faster in a red car , but so far he's always beaten by his teammate Charlie.
If the Italians want to keep LEW at Ferrari , the Ferrari team will transform in a war battlefield(!)
Last weekend I heard that Maranello wants to sign MAX to replace LEW.
I know , it can be rumors . But it was all over the place at the Bahrain paddock.
If LEW can't fight for the WDC in his red car . Then he will go down , retire and replaced .

Christian Horner blaming wind tunnel and correlation for car woes. They used the same wind tunnel to build a super dominant car just 2 years prior. They struggle because they lost Newey. You can see it all in the comments here as well.

Mercedes struggled similarly with correlation in the beginning of these regs until they got a better understanding of what plagued them.

It's not a wind tunnel issue so much as having the right resources that know these regs. Simulations are only helpful if you know what data is and isn't valid. The models are only as good as the assumptions made. This is what Newey provided for red bull. Red Bull began struggling as soon as he left.

Lewis has won multiple places against better team mates (who themselves have also won). The same can't be said of max yet.

If max can win with red bull and without Newey, that'd be commendable. We'll have watch and see. Even if you neglect abu dabi21 (with even Newey questioning some of the grace given to max from that season), as well as the car developed over cost cap, it's clear Newey is the main reason max has had recent dominance. As soon as he stopped contributing, max and rb immediately started to drop in performance /standings.

Mayby in the days of Jim Clark, Graham Hill i.e.

But name me a few multiple world champions of the past 30 years who weren't selfish at the moments that it counted? It's easy to not be selfish when there is nothing at stake. I might argue that having that is part of the true talent. Of course having the raw driving talent is most important, I agree on that.

Also something to consider, the sport has become much more competitive, stakes are much higher, money involved is much more. Therefore pressure is much higher too.

It wasn't only A. Newey . MAX has said : The key-factor at Red Bull was the engineer Rob Marshall.
Rob Marshall moved to McLaren and suddenly the McLaren MCL39 was a speed bullet (!)
The balance and setup of the McLaren MCL39 is like perfection at every track , after a few laps in the free training the car is already ready to rule in the QF and race.
And the McLaren tyres last forever , that's a huge advantage in every race .
At this moment , I don't see who can beat the papaya car..

Useless to say that Pierre Waché is terrible .The Frenchman transformed the RB21 in a Frankenstein car (!)

Well that's a bit better qualification but your "of the past 30 years" is still too broad...Mika Hakkinen ('98 & '99) is a perfect example of a champion to be admired. Try narrowing it down to fewer years and I'm right there with you...those guys fit your personality profile perfectly.
