But the level and speed that you can adapt largely dictates if you're a good driver or not.
The drivers have to adapt constantly on track as the race or qualifying session progresses, sometimes from corner to corner.
I guess we'll know at the end of the year where LEC stands in the WDC and where HAM stands...above or below LEC...
But my money is on that LEC smokes HAM..

His weak point is imho that he can only shine and perform if everything goes to plan. And otherwise he gets so unsure and unfocussed.

And now he slowly sees the chance on a WDC slipping away to both Max and Oscar.
Lets hope he gets his head sorted, because just as well he might not get another chance to win the WDC, few driver get that chance.

0.01 of a second. That’s insane. Max can unlock things in that RB on faster tracks. Tomorrow is going to be very interesting.

Poor Lando. He’s going to be really messed up after that.

George II is a different man this year. Really impressive.

I’m getting the idea that 2025 is a write off for Aston. It’s all in for 2026 already. Not sure how I feel about this but ask me again next year.

So Lando broke suspension big deal, he'll have another go today to catch up, I'm for RB but p'd off of with all this 'oh poor Lando,he won't win now' rubbish, he'll have another go today. Personally I think he needs to man up and stop apologising so much.

That and MAX will be the key-factor...
He's at the front being the main thing for max aero and a bit more tyre cooling, don't think he'll flunk the start all being well with his usual good clutch/feel.

Hopefully It's not true , because then MAX is gone (!)
What I understood from that (if it's not a wind up ) is that RB may stay with Honda e PU's which Honda would be glad to continue obliging but wouldn't that probably mean AM's quest for Honda power be stillborn..

OK, Verstappen still got P3 instead of P10 back then, but it was race #21 out of 22 of the 2021 F1 season: stakes were way higher than race #5 out of 24 of this 2025 season.

We will look back on Jeddah 2025 Q3 as the pivotal moment Norris truly realized that the more talented and mentally stronger Piastri will storm to the 2025 WDC title.

There is literally no pressure on Pia right now, but I have a feeling that will change, along with his ability to cope with it. Very tough going up against a 4 time WDC who has done it done to the wire twice in slower cars and has a level of mental strenth that will be tough to match.
If RB continue to upgrade performance and Mclaren get pegged back a couple tenths I think it's truly going to be a wild season. Also if the Mclaren starts to get edgy I think Pia is prone to more mistakes like we are seeing Nor succumb to now.

I would say Oscar is in the best situation right now, everyone is looking at Lando and expecting him to deliver while Oscar is just chilling and letting all the eyes continue to focus on Lando..

The press is either Lando or Max...Blah blah blah.. Oscar is smart, keeping low key..Good strategy

I think smart and low key is his personality. That's why he is one of my top 3 favorite drivers.

1. LEC
2. MAX
3. PIA

Seeing how Lando reacted after qualifying, he is going to be looked at even more and then the routine will be the press asking questions such as: 'does he have it', 'is his emotional quality stable' blah blah blah....Meanwhile Oscar will be creeping up in no time..

Heck...Oscar is better than Georgina already..imho

Not a fan of one stoppers...think Norris will need to go long. Agree with others that view Piastri in a good spot...not only mentally but being on the better team and in the better car.
Here's tire availability and last year's pit stops/tire use.

Mate . Don't judge too quickly (!)

Depends on how long the tyres last, as we know the Papaya tyres last forever.
According to Zak Brown , McLaren goes for a one (1)! pit strategy.

It's not sure yet , if MAX can pull that off with the very poor balance of the RB21...

According to YUKI : In my last QF lap in turn 4 ,I got a scary moment in turn 4 and lost 0.5 sec. (!)
I got a scary snap in turn 4 , it came out of nowhere . The car is still very unpredictable.
