Max back to Dick Dastardly mode. Oscar got the better start (the stats showed much better 0-200). He was ahead. Max accelerated to get his nose ahead when he should have braked but he missed the part in the rules about actually needing to be able to make the turn.

It’s good entertainment.

Also on a faster circuit you can see the Max spec RB is now the 2nd fastest car. Albeit it needs Max at the wheel.

It’s going to be a very exciting season. Too hard to call. And that’s what we want.

Karun is great. He does sometimes co-commentate. But I like Brundle.

However the sky sport audio mixing is so bad in my home theatre that I can’t hear a word of the commentary. I think they only test it on a transistor radio. Horrible.

They were quite lenient. Normally a 10 second penalty but being on lap 1 they were nice to him.

Actually, the 2025 F1 season is over: the McLaren car is the best car of 2025 F1 grid - best marks for their homework. And with Piastri they got the proper driver to demonstrate this. Piastri blows Norris out of the water - they should no longer hold him back with pro Norris team orders (Zak Brown should tone down his preference for Norris). Piastri gets the 2025 WDC crown - McLaren gets the WCC. Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull will get the scraps. There will still be interesting race developments, car upgrades, etc., but no surprises about the final outcome.

21' Abu Dhabi on turn 7 HAM took a wide line going off the track with no penalty in copy cat scenario ''That's incredible''.
These new stewards do seem fresh out of school but the flexi wing ban is one step nearer, I was even looking if PIA had jumped the start on the dirty side... but never mind MAX will nail the papaya runaway in the coming 19 races.

Not sure I'd write it off yet. Pia sucks in the wet as we have seen and last year his 2nd half of the season was sloppy so I expect him to make some pretty impactful mistakes - plus it's different when you're a favorite due to your car being so fast. Can he deal with growing immense pressure?
Let's also see how the upgrades and flexi (cheat) wing clamp down goes. We also know Nor is Mclaren's #1 driver so I expect there to be some fireworks and maybe a couple double DNFs as they tangle. Max obviously making a massive difference in his much slower car. He also knows how to win WDCs in tight battles, neither Mclaren driver does.
