I want one...

Want one what?

This:

Unfortunately the Supersport is not available in the US. I can't really bring myself to add "yet" as I suspect it will not be offered here.

The Plus Four (with a BMW 4-cylinder engine and either automatic or 6-speed manual) is offered in the US. But I'd really like to have the Supersport with the 6 cylinder BMW engine. But unlike the Plus Four it only comes with an 8-speed automatic. However, the automatic only is not a deal killer IMHO.

Nearest US Morgan dealer -- in Detroit -- is around 900 miles away from me. Probably just as well...

Weirdly there are several Morgans near me. I see them pretty frequently. Absolutely lovely cars. I'd love to have a Supersport. I'd rather one using a LS running the soundtrack though. A big V8 always seemed more the right choice for them.

Nothing on the B58, great engine, but need naturally aspirated noises.

My WAG is Morgans are more common on the east coast. I note all the Morgan US dealers are located east of the Mississippi River. Detroit MI, Harrisburg PA, Washington DC, Ft Lauderdale and Daytona Beach FL.

A LS I think would be overkill. The 4-cylinder engine in the Plus Four and the 6-cylinder engine in the Supersport is a good fit. Literally and figuratively.

With the Supersport the 6-cylinder engine is located behind the front axle making the Supersport a front mid-engine car. Of course this doesn't mean a V8 could not also fit behind the front axle.

Of course if a modern Morgan was offered with a V8 I'd consider it.

Added: Correction. There is a Morgan dealer on the west coast. Specifically in Santa Monica.

An LS3 powered Morgan just feels right.

I imagine a 5.3 or 5.8 would fit well, they're pretty small. Output likely ~350 wheel. All a thought exercise of course. I don't have the space.

To be sure it is not a look that every car lover would like. But I like the look.

They in fact do sell Morgan's here, and we have plenty of people here that buy ugly cars. Look at all the Teslas and Rivian's they sell, or C8s, let alone stuff like the Nissan Juke and Cube. Americans have no problem buying ugly cars.

I'd argue Americans have no issues buying ugly SUVs or TruckUVs (read, four door extended cab trucks).

I like weird looking cars. They have personality in design.

I was shocked the first time I saw a Morgan on the road here. Absolutely tickled, but shocked.

Americans buy ugly cars too. Americans will buy ugly anything's.

The reason you see so few cars anymore is the NHTSA CAFE rules. Cars are classed on their own with far higher requirements for fleet mpg. So that means higher fines for not meeting them, and the requirements are utterly insane so you can't actually meet them.

But if you kill your hatchbacks and cars and call them crossover "light trucks" you get to use the less unmeetable (but still basically unmeetable) requirements and offset your larger vehicles with vehicles barely bigger than a hatchback in that fleet average.

Common, our SUVs need parking bump stops!
