it's not what you get given but what you do with it.

i recall at the start of the year the RB was terrible, Max had a meeting with the team and now the RB is right up there.

probably told Honda to add more Vtec

In 2022 team Merc gave him a car in which he won nothing, and last year his first podium was only in the 10th GP (spain) and first win the 12th gp (silverstone).

The main reflection is that we got all that media attention of stylish photographs and all kind of rumours that it's gonna be great with the team, and all of that pretty much still is a fairytale.

The good thing about the situation is : This means LEW won't even get a silly chance to start a Ferrari drivers war.

Just like today - LEW : My car won't turn . Later on in Q2 he was knocked out by his own beginners mistakes and by rookies in a crap car.

when he was young he had youth, talent and hunger and an entire Toto circus behind him.

now i'm not sure he has the physical ability or the hunger, nor the team backing. if I were him I'd be secretly pocketing the money and appearing to be interested.

Alonso seems to have lost it too, not the driver he once was.

Now on the Qualifying, Ham didn’t have a run on the tires so he falls back and the haters are out in force. Remember when they congratulated the two drivers in the fastest cars on the podium but not Hamilton.

Outside versus inside. The P1 grid position in Miami is a poisoned gift if a 2025 McLaren starts from P2, as will happen also during the GP: divebomb possibility for Norris (if he manages to perform a good start), as Turn 1 sharply turns right, allowing Norris to 'lock out' Verstappen. Let's not be surprised if Verstappen very aggressively yanks about 45° right once the lights have gone out, to attempt to impede Norris from getting first to Turn 1 on the inside. Verstappen only needs to avoid contact and to exit Turn 1 with at least 1 wheel on track.

AmuroRay, from hindsight, given the performance that Antonelli and Russell manage to squeeze out of the Mercedes, do you think that, from a sportive perspective (let's leave finance and brand/merchandise out of the equation for a moment), Hamilton should have stayed at Mercedes for at least the 2025 season ?

Given what rookie Antonelli is showing in what normally would have been Hamilton's car, it looks like Hamilton is not sorely missed at Mercedes to achieve decent race results (P2 in the WCC). And as regards 'return on investment', Antonelli costs Mercedes way less.

That's basically what Hammy's doing. Supposedly his venture with Ferrari which is basically a 2 year drive and a 10 year 'ambassadorship' (turning up for a few media events annually so that Ferrari probably can launch some named special editions of their cars...) is worth $446 million!
(all money put in a mutual investment funds etc etc)
For Ferrari, Hamilton is a marketing tool/asset first, and then an F1 driver.

I agree that Alonso is not as fast or mainly brilliant anymore as he used to be, however, he's still systematically faster than his teammate Stroll.
Imho he's behind Stroll in the WDC mainly due to bad luck, not because he's slower. I know it's Stroll, but it still gives Fernie some track cred

Nope. Not even a top 10 driver on the grid and that’s being generous. If you think he’s so good, why is it that in one of the fastest cars in the grid he is only 7th in the WDC rankings? They’ve had the fastest car for multiple races this year to boot.
