And from that point foreward their car was clearly superior. So a year can be a real gamble. A seemingly superior team/car can loose it's advantage over the winter developing period. Regarding engines it's a different story. Engines have a development freeze. At the beginning of a new ruleset (like every 5 years or so), the basic design development takes place. After that, it's not allowed to gain performance gains through development, only reliability gains or safety gains through development. This is why cars are nowadays way more reliable than say in the 90's

I don't understand. Hammy said he would be way faster than LEC, but the difference is still 0,8sec and he's not really gaining on ANT.
Or are his orders to keep LEC in DRS range giving hin a toe to prevent SAI gaining on LEC? Because that's also not really working, SAI is still roughly 1,5sec behind, just as he was before LEC had to let HAM pass ![]() edit: LEC is questioning it too and says he's now overheating. Go figure in that dirty air...
