They are on par, with the McLaren being more consistent and overall faster on tracks that need more tire cooling. Max is losing to a bunch of mediocre drivers and George Russell. Pathetic. |

Is on par a 37 sec. gap (!) I've never heard that before .. Faster on tracks that need more tire cooling ? Don't you know the European races are coming and the European summer is approaching. Summer = Hotter temps = More tire cooling . More tire cooling = More McLaren advantage in the European races. Mate . Is thinking ahead complicated for you ? MAX losing ? You know very well that RUS got a free pit under the SC (Yellow) If RUS didn't got his free pit , he would never have seen the podium and P3 was for MAX. The RUS podium was a gift from the SC. BTW : According to GPS , RUS didn't lift under the SC and he didn't get a penalty (!) Pathetic ? BS (!)

Ollie Oakes just quit before the Doohan / Colapinto switch was announced.
I suspected as much. Shit move from Flavio and Ollie is quite a loss for Alpine. Last edited by Davil; 05-07-2025 at 11:17 PM.. |

With resurrected back into F1 Briatore in there now he'll probably be moving the youngsters around like skittles, Doohan has already given them a piece of his mind just holding back on the french and at one time the older drivers were telling the boss where it's at.

Wasn't our subject : The McLaren tyre cooling advantage ? (see above)! Speed over just one fast lap and race pace are like day and night (!) Don't you know that MAX was the pole at Miami ? MAX lost the race from the McLaren tyre cooling advantage . All the rest is BS ...

"The FIA inspected the McLaren car and the brake system after the Miami Grand Prix, although it's important to stress that this was part of the usual post-race checks. The report of a selected car usually arrives just before the next race weekend, but apparently everything was found in order and therefore legal."
"It means that competitors must continue their search for McLaren's tyre secret, though there are two complicating factors in that: the budget cap and the fact that teams must eventually shift their focus to 2026, limiting the ability to invest endlessly in this year's car." https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/h...lems/10720911/ |

"These allegations are understood to come from Red Bull, which believes that McLaren has managed to keep its tyres and brakes cool with a supply of water to ensure that the MCL39 does not suffer from overheating in this area." "F1 already has a protest mechanism in place, and the FIA sporting regulations detail that a deposit of €2000 should be made along with any protests submitted by a team." "However, Brown has suggested that this should go further, and says that any publicly aired concerns about another team's car should ensure that this is "put on paper" to deter any "bogus" allegations." "[The water bottle] was poking fun at a serious issue, which is teams have historically made allegations of other teams. Most recently, one team focuses on that strategy more than others." "There's a proper way to protest a team at the end of the race, and you have to make it formal, disclose where it comes from, put some money down." "I think that process should be extended to all allegations to stop the frivolous allegations which are intended only to be a distraction." - - - Zak Brown https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/z...fees/10719288/ Last edited by 3798j; 05-08-2025 at 01:00 PM.. This one suggests bimetallic materials if I remember correctly... They are not super complicated, they're the basis of old-school thermostats for maintaining temperatures in buildings. The specific alloys just need to be dialed in for the temps expected.
One of the other suggestions was phase change materials, which is basically what water would do - water absorbs heat as it changes from water to vapor but stays at the same temperature... The suggestion was that they could be using that to absorb heat from the tires. My thought there is that it could work to absorb heat during the times when the tires get the hottest, but it would need to quickly dissipate that heat during the cooler sections of the track. The temp of that phase change material would have to be so perfectly dialed in, but it would likely need to change depending on the tire compound they're using... IMO, the advanced cooling seems more plausible than the phase change materials, but who knows... |

In F1, good rumors start when teams fall on bad times. This rumor is a goody...
ScuderiaFans.com posted this yesterday: Oakes replaces Horner...Horner replaces Vasseur. "Red Bull crisis: Christian Horner’s position at risk, and Ferrari takes interest" They spell it out here: https://scuderiafans.com/red-bull-cr...akes-interest/ |
