Active aero are moving wings and maybe also a moving suspension.

I'm pretty sure , A. Newey will nail it with active aero (!)

I saw a story somewhere drivers aren't happy about "Active aero" front and rear. DRS has been known to fail. Double wing failure under heavy braking into a sharp turn could be very dangerous

In 2026 the DRS wing will be gone .

The 2026 FIA regulations will introduce MOM ("Manual Override Mode") as a replacement for DRS. This system will allow drivers to access extra electrical power (50%) from the MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic) when within a certain distance of a car ahead, promoting overtaking opportunities. The 2026 key-factor with the MOM will be like :
How fast can you recharge your huge battery to get the MOM max-power to overtake again ?
In hotter temps , very fast charging can overheat the huge battery . This means a very strong cooling system is required to avoid a battery fire (!)
The downside is the recharge time and that you have to wait with your MOM to overtake .
But during your MOM recharge time you can get a car behind you with full (100%) MOM power and you will lose your position again ...
The advantage of the electric power is much more torque coming faster out of the corners .
The active aero is very useful to get the car more planted at high speeds and in corners but also to brake as they work (probably) like brake flaps.

Right, I know DRS will be gone. Point I was trying to make is what if Active Aero fails? Entering a high speed corner with Active Aero open would be very bad.

That was NOT DRS failure.

RIC's rear wing flew off the car . No rear wing = No downforce in the corner.
