Worrisome if true.
I think LJ is fine. She PMed me and I think some other forum members as well right when she went offline. She is busy with her education and career stuff and had to make some time management decisions. I wish her all the best. Hopefully, she will return someday and share her unique perspective once again.

I think his original price was $19.95.

Quality, like it says in your pic? I don't think so.

I looked it up, it was Engineer Bill. My memory failed me again.

On the popular children's show "Cartoon Express", hosted by Engineer Bill Stulla, a segment featured Engineer Bill and two child guests playing a milk-drinking game called "Red Light, Green Light". During this game, participants would drink milk on a green light and stop drinking on a red light.
At least I remembered there was a milk game.

Cool. This place can be a time sink, for sure.

A fellow who worked for me in the 80’s lived in the LA area in the 60’s.
He was planning to sell his car, but it needed paint, so off he went to
Earl Scheib (I think his car was a 1964 Chevy Impala with the 409).
Later, as he was driving down some boulevard, the paint on the hood
peeled off in one big sheet, covering the windshield.

“Riiiiiiiight! I’ll paint any car for $29.95!”

We had a 1948 Pontiac in the family with a Straight Eight and Three on the Tree. I learned to drive stick in that car. One day my dad thought it would be a good idea to freshen up the paint on that beautiful old classic by taking it to Earl Schieb. The car came out pretty nice. So did the trim and the tires. His paint jobs were awful cheap; awful and cheap!

I know it is a time sink for me. I'm retired now so time has a different meaning to me. But if I took the time I spent on these forums and went back to work part time, I could buy almost any car on the market with cash left over. But that's okay. I have the cars I want already and it's nice to spend my time the way I like with no pressures. So, my off humor and bad puns will continue.

I really wasn't sure if was Sheriff John or Engineer Bill. Thanks for doing the research.

During that time, two of my other favorites were Skipper Frank and Tom Hatten. Do you remember them?

Yes, I am. When you need elderly advice, you may come to me. !!!

Here is a Youtube video about these guys who entertained the kids of the 50s and early 60s.

Tom Hatton was an incredible artist who hosted the Popeye cartoons, Skipper Frank had a show in the LA market. I went to school with one of his kids. Great memories.

I remember Beany & Cecil but they looked like this when I watched them. Haven't finished your YT video, but when I do (probably tomorrow) I'll let you know who else I remember.

I just noticed that Lloyd Thaxton is in that Youtube video. I use to go on his dance show in the mid-60s. It was a West Coast American Bandstand-type show. Do you remember the Lloyd Thaxton Show?

Anyone else have skin that's turned to parchment? I just finished putting up a camera outside. Twice I had to stop to go get a band-aid because I was bleeding from small nicks on my hands. And now that I'm done and relaxing, I see this long trail of dried blood running down my calf. I have no idea how I did that. It seems if I brush against anything, it rips my skin. I have to be careful scratching my head or it will start to bleed. It's getting ridiculous.

Red light - green light's in there, and I do remember Tom Hatton after all (know the face, forgot the name), Bozo, Casey Kasem, and Shebang.

Earl painted my 70 Cougar from pea soup green to black. I put some trim on the wheel wells and rattled them in blue. Anywhere there was a little overspray (I didn't bother taping anything off) the black peeled like a sunburn.

By the time I got to see him I think it was $99.95

That happens to me as well. I used to get cuts from brushing against things all the time but I'm much more careful now and haven't had any accidents like that for a while.

AI Overview:

"Thin skin in older adults is a natural part of aging, characterized by a decrease in collagen and elastin, making the skin more fragile and susceptible to bruising and tearing."
