Though I would consider the newer design as a whole to be a more important improvement than just the extra 5kW power.
Sorry only 5 kW boost? I mean the US 40i model has over 380 hp. And I heard that EU 40i model is also around 340 hp as CN model does. If EU model is going to be updated to the power that US model has, how could it only be an extra 5 kW?

BTW, newer design you mean a true LCI appearance? Considering the recent update is basically nothing interesting.

Anybody has a good informed guess on the electric motor and battery improvements that may come to the i5 and i4 in 2025?

I guess not, since I can't even find speculation online, but I sincerely hope that it means a switch to a 800v architecture and faster charge times. I may be ready to order before the announcement but I feel like waiting to find out, since a few months wait feel worth it if we get a much better EV for the long term.

Don't count on 800V for the current EVs. That's most likely going happen for NK models. Most likely they may increase the energy capacity of the battery packs, ie, i3 went from 22kw to 33 kw to 42kw (gross). I would hope that BMW increases the existing battery energy by a small amount as they improve the battery chemistry but not switch from 400v to 800v in the current models.

ynguldyn already posted some info on the possible i4 EM update, the M50 is going to be M60 with 590hp.

ynguldyn Is it safe to say we won’t see a facelifted M3 CS sedan (or any other special edition M3 in the US that matches the CS spec)?

There are no special M3s I can see in the pipeline atm. The EOP is 2.5 years away so I'd say no more than a minimal chance of anything showing up as the final chord.

M2 xDrive would be a great opportunity for BMW to engineer the manual transmission to fit the M xDrive system, as it could then be used on the USDM G84 M3s. Doubtful BMW will do this though.

NC0

You have posted under February 2023 update "NC0 is the chassis code of the next i5 (starting production in 2030)."

But, I do not see it in the list at the top after G60/G61.

Was this accidentally left out of the list at the top, or is it rumored that BMW has no plans to make the NC0 i5?

Hello,

With the G80 ending production in February 2027, does that mean the next generation M3 will launch in 2028 as a MY29?

I’m a dope, so please humor me:

M2 with XDrive for 2026, but NOT as a “CS” correct?

I had it in my head for some reason that if M2 was going to have XDrive it would have to be a CS model

Edit: read some older post and this appears to be the case… never mind

I greatly look forward to 2028 and the next round of M3 and M4 (if the M4 exists then). If I don't like that model either, it's likely the end of my BMW run after 25+ years. I hope the new design team creates a nice-looking car again.

I see you're behaving exactly like any Russian citizen is expected these days: the war is none of your business.

To answer your question: the illegal annexation of Crimea was the first step in the process that resulted, among other things, in BMW halting its exports to Russia.

One of the most fun things I see in BMW data these days is the repeated postponement of the resumption of official Russia builds further and further into the future.

Are there any word on which EU diesel models will end? It’s surprises me as diesel is still quite a popular choice in the EU. I couldn’t understand the diesel saloon/estate vehicles being stopped.

I can't give you any guarantees here but I think if I say "all of them", I won't be far from the truth.

The iX1 is getting a drive train update in 3/26? Also with a larger battery? And when can the LCI be ordered?

Updates don't always mean functional improvements that can be perceived by the driver.

LCI is more than 2 years away in 2027. First, let's make sure the world hasn't ended by then.
