Looks like the line under the taillight may be a split tailgate. Only thing I’m sold on is the wheels but of course M model will be better :sigh:

photos cleaned up...
With that cleaned up rear photo, it looks like there is a chance for the split tailgate to be there. That little overhang below the roundel makes it seem like there is a possibility for it.

Looks like an iX3 but bigger.
All new BMWs are starting to look the same, just like Teslas.

Will need to see it in person To make a final judgment.

The overall lines aren't too bad, and the back end looks better in the cleaned up photo. The front definitely looks better on the IX3 than here tho.

I like it, but I also like the iX3 (might prefer the X5 even a bit more). I just think the Neue Klasse design works really good on SUVs, but I'm afraid not so good on sedans and coupes.

The interior is another story though.

Wow, looks amazing.

The split tailgate is still there with that obvious line underneath the badge.

Also how in the hell did this leak so early? Is BMW going to reveal this, the new LCI 7er and i3 today?

Although the G65 appears to be receiving the Neue Klasse design language it is still in fact based up the CLAR platform. That is a plus in my book as the CLAR platform was primarily developed for ICE and NK primarily for BEV.

Based on the background it definitely appears that it’s being setup for a reveal very soon.

I really like the body lines on this design. Rear end would be easy to clean up with some vinyl, just look at the difference the paint scheme makes between the original and LCI iX. Fill in the black with body color and it will be pretty clean.

If so then today is a very important day the brand.

I had no idea they were planning to reveal it this early. I though the new X5 was months away judging by the spy shots of the test models.

Either they need to review their security measures or they're deliberately leaking these cars early. I'm not complaining though I think the new cars look amazing and can't wait to see more.

No "iDrive Controller",...no "Split Tailgate",...hmm, what's next to go!

Glad I bought my G05 50E in December 2024!

Just like the 5 and 7 series - it looks too tall.
That’s the downside of them using CLAR for both the gas and EV version

Pretty sure it’s a controlled leak. Of course they’d never admit as such.

That funny how camera angles can mess around…. We know the actual specs show it is slightly shorter than the current model.

Side profile looks great, i haven’t said that for a lot of the newer bmws. Front design seems to look and work better then the ix3. Rear diffuser area looks weird but overi think the i can get used to the rear. Overall a sigh of relief

I guess I’ll be keeping my pre-LCI G05 M50i until it dies or bankrupts me.

I love everything except that rear end treatment with that black. It is not cohesive and makes it look unfinished. Not a deal breaker though.
And those wheels are gorgeous! ❤️

Rear looks worse then I thought as I had high hopes for that at least. I can do without the front. Side profile looks good. So is the split gate gone? Looks like it or is it hiding right under the tail light line.?? Front is spot on from what we thought it would look like. Rear spoiler with the two sticking up areas is a miss in my opinion.
This thing will have to be extremely more efficient than my 50E for me to consider upgrading to it.

I don't know the specs,...but there needs to be some 380-400Hp (or more) available from the B58,...plus 60 or more miles (US version) of eRange from the Hybrid eDrive system.

Just by moving to Florida or Georgia, the eRange of my 50e would be mid-to-high 40s easily, as I routinely have some 46 to 52 miles of eRange here in Northern VA.

When upgrading from the 45E to 50E,...it was about the "efficiency" difference,...although I highly appreciated the interior of the pre-LCI G05 over the minimalist presentation of the LCI G05. I'm not sure if the X5 60E will convince me to upgrade some 2 years down the road.

Edit: Wait what! I did a little research and see that the G65 will have 50E and 60E versions! Well, there goes the chance of the a near 400Hp B58 in the 50E version!

I don’t mind it. Can judge it better in person.

My main concern is the interior and the eccentric and none intuitive steering wheel design, I drive screen etc.

I don’t think I can get over that.
