Strange that the door handles do not show up on the initial (non cleaned up) images. I thought they were getting capacitive handles on the top edge of the door panel, just under the glass?

How will the door handles most likely work when the battery is dead? How do they pop out?

Are those 23" wheels? BMW really is keeping their word with making the X5 touch more into the sporty and luxurious category.

Oliver Heilmer has to go this is unacceptable. The new models are awful I’m speechless ! One thing’s for sure I won’t be buying any BMW Neue Klasse models. I’m done with them.

Note that the cleaned up photos are AI generated, so if a detail is not clearly visible in the original, whatever you see in the cleanup is AI's best guess, not the reality.

Wow, looks amazing.

The split tailgate is still there with that obvious line underneath the badge.

Also how in the hell did this leak so early? Is BMW going to reveal this, the new LCI 7er and i3 today?
I’m still skeptical on the split tailgate. That line looks way too tight underneath the badge, and I’d be surprised if the split was right up against the taillights

Looks like I'll be getting a Range Rover. This thing is unbelievably hideous.

Folks actually are on here willing to drop $90k+ on a car while saying "I don't mind it" as the nicest compliment. Wild.

Rear looks good with mimimal modern lines and surfaces .
Side silhouette is also nice.

-NEGATIVES
Front face is a disaster as all Neue Klasse models.
Soul-less headlights, horrible vertical grille.

My biggest concern is the interior with the tilted screen and the absence of a dash display.

Powertrains will be great.

this m60e will cost easily over $100K. to your point...you can get a new range rover sport for that money (phev) and new full size range rover for $130K phev

range rover full size and sport are getting a refresh / face lift later this year so you will have good choices all around.

I don't really think the split tailgate is there. The split would sit way to high to make any sense. You can also see that the tailgate for the G65 is way shorter than both part of the tailgate of the G05.

It’s sad because this looks like the exact same car as the iX3, just a tiny bit bigger. I’ve always thought BMW has done an admirable job of keeping their lineup looking a bit differentiated at least on the sedan side.

Mercedes in my opinion, has been notorious for having all of their sedans / EV’s look almost the exact same and it really turned me off on them. It looks like BMW is following in their footsteps. I guess in hindsight I really appreciate BMW having different kidney grills for just about every model! Never thought I would say that!

Regardless of how the new X5 may look, X5 remains as one of the most important (if not THE most important) vehicles in BMW portfolio. BMW has very little room to make mistakes with X5 evolution.

G65 is not a better design than G05 LCI. Only things better would be 19 more HP, iDrive X and may be Adaptive Cruise Control as standard feature.

The design of the iX3 looks so nice, but it doesn’t scale up as well to the iX5.

New X5 will be a home run for them judging by how well the iX3 has been received.

I think all Neue Klasse models are going to be a massive success for the brand and the new EV M cars are going to set new benchmarks.

As a huge fan of the brand I'm looking forward to the new cars

The door handles from the Skytop are indeed there, they are in Shadowline like the B and C pillars.

Just like the 5 and 7 series - it looks too tall. This leak along with the i3 leak and the discontinuance of the 8 series makes for a pretty disappointing lineup from BMW at this time.
If I remember the published specs correctly, it’s actually less tall than the outgoing model?
