With that cleaned up rear photo, it looks like there is a chance for the split tailgate to be there. That little overhang below the roundel makes it seem like there is a possibility for it.
Hope dies last?

Lines don’t bother me. The skinny grilles are not great.

What eats me, and continues to eat at me is the over use of the letter “M”

“M” is for the small population that pay a premium for the very best version available. The highest performer in the class. That’s why we want these models. To stand out.

I hate how everyone now can have it. Totally robbery of the prestige

just wondering..... those lower door accents.... it looks like they are designed in such a way that would give the lower door sill's enough room for an integrated running boards?

not that it matters,,,,, the inside is hideous..... ugh.... Why BMW? Why?!!!

🤢🤢 It’s been a good run, gents. For what it’s worth, personally that’s not a front-end design I could ever see myself behind the wheel of. Taking a grille design from 1970s isn’t working here. BMW design downfall should be studied, possibly a Netflix documentary aswell.

I’ll enjoy my G05 example a bit longer, then venture into different brands or models.

Was waiting for this comment. It always seems to come up whenever an all-new model is launched.:bellyroll

Ugly car, as usual in modern BMW, almost every model getting uglier and uglier. Shame on BMW design, a bunch of losers!

Be advised the G65 is still based upon the CLAR platform.

The BMW X5 is one of the most successful SUVs on the market, and its fifth generation is set to continue that success in 2027. The new 2027 BMW X5 (G65) will be based on the CLAR platform, which is also used by the current generation X5. This means that the new 2027 X5 will be available with a variety of powertrain options, including combustion engines, hybrid engines, and electric motors.
The fact that it is not a NK platform car goes against BMWs own philosophy as they said NK would be just to make sure ev cars are built like ev cars and not dragging along the bev built stuff.

So… sorry BMW another chance missed…
I’ll go and get myself a Denza…

Rear looks worse then I thought as I had high hopes for that at least. I can do without the front. Side profile looks good. So is the split gate gone? Looks like it or is it hiding right under the tail light line.?? Front is spot on from what we thought it would look like. Rear spoiler with the two sticking up areas is a miss in my opinion.
This rear spoiler with two fins is an answer to newest Range Rover dual fins design.

Oliver Heilmer has to go this is unacceptable. The new models are awful I’m speechless ! One thing’s for sure I won’t be buying any BMW Neue Klasse models. I’m done with them.
The iX3 is selling like hot cakes when a lot of manufacturers are seeing a downturn in their EV sales. So seems like Oliver is doing a pretty good job! I don't see him going anywhere anytime soon.

The ix3 is electric, so that’s a different market, but having an X5 with an internal combustion engine that has the same front end as an ix3 is just awful

Wow, that is… really hideous. Glad I purchased my G05 last year. If BMW stays on their current design language, it will sadly be my last BMW.

That is nearly guaranteed with iDrive 10 being the main focal point.

Looks good. Sometimes i wonder how people find their way on to this forum, but still dont understand that all new BMW from now on is going to have this design language. They will also have the interior design language from the ix3 NK and the panoramic view screen under the windshield on all cars both EV and ICE.

BMW has announced that they will be introducing 40 heavily updated NK models before 2027 is over. That probably includes LCI of some cars like the 7 series, but also completly new generations of outgoing models and possibly something completly new. They will all have the NK design language.

The road presence of these cars is spot on. The design is modern and iconic. There is nothing to worry about for BMW, the cars will sell well. 😄
