The fact that it is not a NK platform car goes against BMWs own philosophy as they said NK would be just to make sure ev cars are built like ev cars and not dragging along the bev built stuff.

So… sorry BMW another chance missed…
I’ll go and get myself a Denza…
NK design will be across all models, not NK platform.

The ix3 is electric, so that’s a different market, but having an X5 with an internal combustion engine that has the same front end as an ix3 is just awful
Doesn’t explain your “Oliver Heilmer has to go this is unacceptable” statement though. Why would someone have to go if they’ve just introduced a Nueue Klasse design that is selling like hot cakes? But, whatever…

Ugly car, as usual in modern BMW, almost every model getting uglier and uglier. Shame on BMW design, a bunch of losers!
Unfortunately this is the case at almost every brand now, too. Either the younger designers have zero skill, the engineers are running the show and maximizing cost cutting, or they are actually using AI to help these designs at this point.

Ferrari = mess
Lambo = mess
MB = mess
Audi = mess
BMW = mess

It goes on and on and on.

The world is full of old cars, you can pick up a few every year for the rest of your life and not run out. BMW has to sell new cars to new generations of buyers to stay in business.

Ugh… so essentially it received the front end design cues from the iX3.
Correct. This is the new design language. Thank you for following along.

Looks…. Rugged. Not sure how I feel about all models looking the same. The clamshell design will be missed - super unique and practical.

Love it, clean lines, not a flashy suv similar to the G05. Overall I am not sure if I am ready to leave my 22 x5 with the traditional cockpit and dual rear gate to a Toyota echo style dash. Definitely struggling with the latter.

Looks like a scaled up ix3. Why does everything have to look the same anymore interior and exterior?

At least in the past if you didn’t like a certain design you could upgrade or downgrade to get something different. Now if you don’t like something you hate them all.

It’s like when Homer Simpson goes to pick out new clothes from the closet. It’s all the same. It’s just not fun anymore.

The auto industry is just crazy anymore.

So tired of this brand putting out ugly cars that will have to "grow" on us. Why are they incapable of putting out a good design from the start? And why does everything look like an EV?
Exactly this!

Looks like some photos are starting to appear of the upcoming M60e. Looks like the split tailgate is officially gone.

Yea I agree. Now for sure everything is same inside and outside and slightly better materials for higher end model. It’s cheap for them to do. But it’s very annoying as consumer.

🤢🤢 It’s been a good run, gents. For what it’s worth, personally that’s not a front-end design I could ever see myself behind the wheel of. Taking a grille design from 1970s isn’t working here. BMW design downfall should be studied, possibly a Netflix documentary aswell.

I’ll enjoy my G05 example a bit longer, then venture into different brands or models.
What a crybaby

NK evolved from being just a platform to then also being the new overall design language for both CLAR and NK vehicles. This was said long ago here on BP.

100%. So tired of seeing people post about the E46, E38 etc being beautiful designs and then complain how the newer models are awful.

It's tiring seeing the same old thing year in, year out with every new BMW product release.

It kind of looks like a VW atlas. Bulky and not well proportioned. I have always loved the X5. Not sure where the brand is heading with this design printed into every new car.

There will always be one or two decent looking cars out new.

To replace my Stelvio right now my top options are:
Upcoming GLC 53
GV70 if they introduce a performance variant
Macan ICE if they don't ruin the design

I can't think of a single other 2026/2027 similar sized SUV that I like visually. Volvo XC60/90 maybe but boring to drive.

Was waiting for this comment. It always seems to come up whenever an all-new model is launched.:bellyroll
I’m actually really receptive and love the LCI models and newer design language. I just do not like the neue klasse front fascia on the x5 nor the ix3. Side / back / 3/4 profile is ok. I’m sure the new screen in the inside will grow on many just as this curved screen has. To each their own. ✌🏽

Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but is this AI generated? The license plate doesn’t look like any language I’ve seen before? Also, what were the originals for the cleaned up images? They’re somehow showing a wider shot than the first 2?
