Actually not very realistic unless BMW is still undecided about their badge placement and is using multiple vehicles in the same shot with badges in different places. ;)
Yup. Also pretty sure the gas powered versions do not have their fuel fill on the front fenders. ;)

It’s clearly fake, but a well-rendered fake (mostly) in line with the leaks and camo versions snapped in public.

Recent BMW’s just don’t seem to photograph well. At least to my eyes.
Thus the polarizing comments even from a blurry picture. I would imagine even a blurry pic of Monica Belluci in her prime wouldn't be as much!

The pic is just reversed. Look at the wiper. That video uses the same view too many times. I don't think something BMW would do.
I was just about to make the same point. I think it could well be genuine.

Coming to the X5 from an Audi SQ5 which had a non split tailgate - the only negative that I can see is that it pushes you further away from the part of the trunk area closest to the rear seats. For loading and unloading some things that could be a downside.

Other than that I agree with your list of pros.
Your point is indeed correct. There have been a few occasions where having the lower tailgate down has made it harder to push things up against the back seats. In those cases, I’ll keep the lower tailgate up to make things easier. Granted, I’m 6’2” with a 37” sleeve length (aka long arms), so I rarely run into this problem. I would imagine people who are shorter/have less reach than me could see this scenario more often.

From the outside, it looks fine to me. But what I really appreciate about the outgoing model is the low beltline, and upright large greenhouse. It makes the interior so bright and airy and frankly is one of the current x5's advantages over virtually every other competing vehicle except maybe a range rover (which I would never buy). I am going to miss that big view and open feeling... a lot!

To me it looks like the split tailgate is gone but it’s possible that line under the roundel and the taillights could still mean it does split.
Nice catch

That was dismissed awhile ago even on the camo shots. That line is way to high for a split and would make it extremely difficult to use with the bottom closed.

IMHO, it certainly looks like one with the recessed door handles and taillight design as specific examples. But yeah, dunno why the badges are covered.

They still can’t figure out how to hide the rear wiper!! Gheesh

Not in love with it but if this is the M version as stated on the license plate, the regular models and m sport will be less atttractive

We’re fortunate that the price difference is negligible to us. Our past five daily drivers have all been Bimmers because we prefer the under the radar yet sporty combo. My wife said she’d feel too “flashy” rolling into work with a Cayenne or RR, whereas her black M50i is perfect.

However when she saw these new pics her reaction was “yuck, that’s disgusting and I’d be embarrassed to drive to work in that! I’d rather deal with the RR and “Porsche” comments than drive a terrible looking car.”

Really curious what BMW is thinking. New design language doesn’t appeal to a car enthusiast (me) yet also doesn’t appeal to my wife who doesn’t really care & just wants something that looks “sporty and not ugly”.
Money grows on trees for you, can please your wife with an RR or Porsche.

They should make a rear spoiler mandatory so that a wiper can hide under it when not in use.

Come home to Porsche! It's the only brand that still has a European design ethos. Everything else is Asian tier gaudy crap.

Unfortunately this is the case at almost every brand now, too. Either the younger designers have zero skill, the engineers are running the show and maximizing cost cutting, or they are actually using AI to help these designs at this point.

It goes on and on and on.
Righttt.. Because 5 of the oldest and biggest automakers in the world definitely don’t know what they’re doing 😂

I will argue that the Macan electric has some crap design elements. Over use of black plastic is one of them.
